Would you like this be a part of this innovative opportunity?

Imagine living in a rural or remote area of this country and finding out you or your family member has a chronic health condition that needs medical follow up. The nearest physician is 4 hours away, maybe by boat, and the nurse visits the community you live once ever 2 weeks. Imagine your closest neighbor is 10 minutes down the lane, and the children are bussed an hour a day to school which is a multigraded classroom less than 20 students in total.

Many people in our country live this way, access to health services, education, support, diversional activities, and even employment is not within easy reach. How can health care practitioners help change the course of chronic diseases when they cannot see their patients? How can the patient begin to know what is in their power to improve their health status without the connections of health providers or peers with lived experience? With the commitment of Canada's access to provide internet no matter where you reside, the option of remote health services is becoming a reality.

If the Covid 19 pandemic taught us anything, it taught us that we can do things differently, and we can use virtual care options that were once thought impossible. Now taking that knowledge and translating it into primary care options for people who either missed their follow up, or it cost them greatly in time and money to arrange it, the option to improve quality of life for those not near a health provider is a real option.

Click on the above link that will take you to a infograph, if you saw this poster in your mailbox, or in a grocery store, would you share it? Would you reach out and receive your health care virtually? Looking forward to hearing about the concerns, possible barriers, or the positives on this pivot in health care delivery.
